Australian Paintball Confusion

Australia has some of the toughest marker laws in the region with paintball markers deemed firearms and players required to obtain licenses and permits to obtain their paintball markers. In the state of Tasmania paintball marker ownership is still banned. Considering the strict laws  downunder regarding paintball markers, local ballers were suprised to see the Super-Splat Multiblaster paintball/water pistol hit the shelves of toy stores around the country.

www.australiapaintball.com recently reported that the Southern state of Victoria has now officially ruled that the toy is a firearm and people who want to possess one will  have to apply for a permit just as they do with any other paintball marker. While the local paintball community seem to agree with the government's decision, it all seems a little late when the toy has been on sale in Australia for many months.
